Arch Manning, the brand’s 2023 quarterfinal 5-star QB, is expected to be in Athens for the next two days.
Yes, it’s that Manning family. His two uncles, Eli and Peyton, are national sports brands that still appear in commercials long after their playing years are over.
The peculiarity of its history is that it bears its name well. Arch’s play is more in tune with the makeshift playmaker on wheels than his grandfather was for Ole Miss. Archie terrorized the SEC and first established Manning’s name as Boardwalk property with respect to quarters.
Manning, Cooper’s son, ranks # 1 in QBs in the country and # 3 in the Overall Outlook for 2023 on the 247Sports Composite scale. This visit was planned and has been reported by several outlets for some time, including 247Sports and Rivals.
But this is by no means a selective visit. The Isidore Newman (New Orleans, Louisiana) has toured multiple programs so far in June.
Many of the more likely candidates appear to be linked to connections within the Manning family.
The recruiting industry is currently naming Clemson, Duke, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Tennessee as teams that stand a chance in this one. Clemson received a great visit this month. Alabama would also be on the program.
This is the part where the savvy DawgNation reader once screamed onscreen that there’s no way Georgia is getting Arch Manning. See 5-star freshman Brock Vandagriff. He signed in 2021. See All-American QB Gunner Stockton. He is a mainstay of this year’s class of 2022.
We understood. Yet Georgia 2023 engagement TE Pearce Spurlin III doesn’t care about any of that.
Spurlin is still working to bring the best-in-his-class players to Georgia during this 2023 cycle. He’s going to make sure he’s in Athens this weekend with Arch.
However, this is also when you have to remember that anything can happen when it comes to recruiting. Take a look at this second film, and you’ll understand why every school across the country will be putting all of their staff on deck for a visit when the Manninges come to town.
Manning’s second flagship film is over 19 minutes long. This is unheard of in the recruiting world.
Check it out. It doesn’t make an observer lose focus. This should lead an observer to think he looks more like his grandfather than these two uncles who have each won multiple Super Bowls as QBs.

Arch Manning started for two seasons of high school football at Isidore Newman in New Orleans. This is where Eli and Peyton both also played their high school ball. Archie Manning raised his three sons in New Orleans. It was there that he played for so many years in the NFL with the Saints.
Check out Arch Manning’s stat line on MaxPreps.com for those 20 games: 340 for 516 for 4,360 yards with 55 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. That’s a 66 percent completion rate. He also zig-zagged and zagged for 361 yards for 7.2 yards per run attempt for 12 more touchdowns.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound junior has seen his teams go 18-3 in both seasons. His father, Cooper, recently updated his son’s point of view with ESPN 104.5 radio in New Orleans.
âHe loves football,â Cooper Manning said. âHe’s enjoying his friends and the workouts and growing up. He’s kind of had a growth spurt here over the last couple of months. Enjoying being in the weight room and throwing. He loves it. If it was me pressuring him to play or hurry to get ready, it was always like, “Hey, can you come get me?” Can we go throw? Can you feed me hoops? My boys are like that. It makes it a lot easier as a parent.
Spurlin knows Manning well. And he’s also going to recruit the tonsils from this 5-star QB for Georgia.
âArch and I are good friends and talk almost every day,â Spurlin III said.
He plans to be in Athens tomorrow to see him.
âI just want to hang out with him,â Spurlin III said. âFrom guy to guy. He has enough people in his ear on football.
