Arnold Palmer Invitational 2022: Live stream, how to watch online, TV schedule, radio coverage, golf tee times
This week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational is as unmissable as any golf event so far in 2022. Part of that is due to the calendar year’s second-best course, and part of that is due to a course golf course at Bay Hill that has delivered plenty of drama over the years, especially when it’s fast and firm as expected this time around.
World No. 1 Jon Rahm making his first appearance at this tournament is certainly helping his cause, but he’s not the only reason to tune in. Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Scottie Scheffler and Hideki Matsuyama will all play this week at API, ahead of next week’s Q1 event at The Players Championship.
Around this time last year, we had that iconic shot of Bryson DeChambeau almost carrying the 6th green with his drive (twice). We won’t get that this time around because DeChambeau retired on Monday with lingering hand and hip injuries, but that’s not the only drama we’ve seen in recent years here.
Thriving McIlroy at this course has added to his appeal over the past five years, and he’s given us a diverse set of winners since Tiger Woods stopped winning him (he won for the eighth time in 2013). Since then, we’ve seen Matt Every (twice), then traveled the world from Jason Day to Marc Leishman to Francesco Molinari, Tyrrell Hatton, McIlroy and DeChambeau.
With another good international part of the event this week, I expect another great placing (almost at the Open Championship). And as has happened for the past six years, another great striker is expected to reach the top by Sunday afternoon. We won’t have a player carrying the 6th green, but we should have another terrific Arnold Palmer Invitational.
