Big test in Vegas (TV, radio, +)

The New York Islanders returned to the winning column last night with a fairly decisive 3-0 win over Arizona. Now, just over 24 hours later, they will face the Vegas Golden Knights on their long road trip.

Barry Trotz changed the lines last night which appeared to be a factor in the Isles’ offensive rebound. The second row was much better and Ilya Sorokin was solid in goal for the third game in a row. The question is whether they’ll ride him again tonight or go to Corey Schneider’s instead.

Tonight, the Isles will face a familiar face in Robin Lehner. So far, Lehner has had a slow start at just 1-3-0 with a .901 save percentage and a 3.58 goals-against average.

Two points in four games is not where Vegas expected them to start the season. They are only 27th in goals of the season and they rank 19th in goals against so far with a slow start in goal from Lehner.

It’ll be a good test for the Islanders tonight to see if they’re ready to hang on to the right teams on the road or if their slow start continues.

Marchessault – Karlsson – Smith
