COACHES: Gabe Johnson, 10-4 in 2nd grade at Bloomington South, 24-14 in 4th grade overall. Tim Bless, 144-94 in 22nd grade in Columbus North, 156-103 in 24th grade overall.

LAST RELEASE: Bloomington South defeated Southport, 35-13. Columbus North defeated Terre Haute North, 24-0.

LAST 35 YEARS SERIES: Bloomington South, 20-16

LAST MEETING: Columbus North, 38-14, October 2, 2020.

OUTLOOK: South is after his first Indiana Conference title since 2016 and a win would leave the Panthers alone at the top. Columbus North did little more than just throw the ball straight to Terre Haute North last week, racking up 297 yards while passing for just 30 more. The defense had its second shutout of the season, registering five of its 17 sacks and recording two assists. A rough schedule included Cathedral, Roncalli, and Gibson Southern. Quarterback Luke Hammons (62-97-5-684) recorded a record 86 rushing yards last week while Dyllan Redmon posted a record 213 yards on 26 carries. His previous record was 73. Keegan Casteller is their best receiver (22-300).

Indianapolis Roncalli (6-0) at Bloomington North (5-1)

GAME TIME: 7:00 p.m.

COACHES: John Rodenberg, 19-1 in 2nd grade at Roncalli, 193-133 in 28th grade overall. Scott Bless, 75-102 in 17th grade in Bloomington North, 90-132 in 22nd grade overall.

LAST RELEASE: Roncalli defeated Brébeuf Jésuite, 28-10. Bloomington North defeated New Albany, 69-45.

LAST 35 YEARS SERIES: Roncalli, 3-0

LAST MEETING: Roncalli, 63-21, October 3, 2020.

OUTLOOK: The best team in 4As and overall one of the best programs in the state calls on the Cougars. The Royals could be even busier than last year’s State Champions, with plenty of plays back, including an absolutely huge offensive line for double-threat QB Aidan Leffler (997 yards, 13 TDs) and the RB Luke Hanson (516 yards, 5 TDs). Cade Gore (361 yards on the ground, 349 yards, 9 TDs in total) is a handful and receiver Kyle Lockard (26 catches for 449 yards, 7 TDs) is too. North will be hoping he can continue to unleash his offensive fireworks under injured starting QB Reece Lozano or substitute Cayden Riester, who held the reins last week.

Sullivan (4-2) at Edgewood (1-4)

GAME TIME: 7:00 p.m.

RADIO: WCLS 97.7 FM; WHCC 105.1 FM.

COACHES: Blaine Powell, 36-15 years old in 5th grade at Sullivan. Caleb True, 1-4 in 1st year at Edgewood.

LAST RELEASE: Sullivan defeated Owen Valley, 24-14. Edgewood lost to Indian Creek, 27-15.

LAST 35 YEARS SERIES: Edgewood, 11-9

LAST MEETING: Sullivan, 38-21, October 2, 2020.

OUTLOOK: After losses to Linton and Northview, Sullivan is on a roll again, having put the WIC Gold Division in a draw after knocking down Owen Valley. Arrows are one of three teams with a loss and a chance to win the league title. Sullivan has a balanced attack with a record 1,058 rushing yards and 1,091 assists under quarterback Rowdy Adams. RB William Newby has 524 yards and 7 touchdowns and Luke Adams is the top receiver (24-360, 5 touchdowns). Edgewood’s offensive must be set in motion to follow.

Eastern Greene (1-5) at Owen Valley (5-1)

GAME TIME: 7:00 p.m.

TWITTER: @ EveningWorld1

COACHES: Roy Bruce, 3-23 in 3rd grade at Eastern. Rob Gibson, 5-1 in 1st year at Owen Valley.

LAST RELEASE: East lost to Paoli, 55-0. Owen Valley lost to Sullivan, 24-14.

LAST 35 YEARS SERIES: Owen Valley, 1-0

LAST MEETING: Owen Valley, 48-6, October 2, 2020.

OUTLOOK: Owen Valley will be scathing after a tough loss to Sullivan that cost them the WIC Gold Division title. Look for a healthy dose of rushing 1-2 punch from running back Christian McDonald and quarterback Brody Lester. The Arrows were the first team to hit the Patriots for more than 14 points. Eastern faces another difficult task after being run over by Paoli last week and going through a second shutout.
