PREDICTION TIME: Best and Worst Case Scenarios for Tom Izzo’s 2021-22 Team

Play Notes: Michigan State is aiming for the No. 5 victory since losing its first game to Kansas. When the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament opened on Wednesday, MSU got off to a hot start, then let Loyola Chicago take over. Still, the Spartans did it late enough to overtake the Ramblers. A Tyson Walker alley-oop to Marcus Bingham Jr. with less than four seconds to go won it for the Spartans. Malik Hall had a career night with 24 points on 9-9 shots and seven rebounds.

No.21 UConn survived a double-overtime thriller 115-109 against No.22 Auburn late Wednesday at Battle 4 Atlantis. Adama Sanogo had 30 points and Tyler Polley and RJ Cole each had 24 for the Huskies, who might be a bit tired of playing after playing 50 minutes.

After the tournament, MSU will play Wednesday against Louisville in their ACC / Big Ten Challenge clash. Maryland-Eastern Shore, a MEAC school, is UConn’s next opponent on Tuesday.
