USL Loans Gathering: August 17
For the first time this season, all loaned FC Cincinnati players took part in the USL Championship last week! Here’s a look at how the four players performed:
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 2-0 victory over Loudoun United FC
Lundt got another shutout on Sunday night as he kept Loudoun scoreless in Lou City’s 2-0 win.
The goalie made four saves, made two catches in the win and will play again Wednesday night when Louisville hosts SKC II.
Club: Charlotte Independence
Result: draw 1-1, victory 3-2
Ortiz played in both Charlotte games last week.
He was substituted in the 27th minute last Wednesday in a 1-1 draw against Birmingham Legion FC, where he managed 23 assists with an accuracy of 73.1%.
The 2020 MLS SuperDraft pick started for Independence in Saturday night’s 3-2 win over Memphis 901 FC. He played 81 minutes and had two shots on target. He also made 25 passes with 76% accuracy.
Ortiz will face another FCC player in the next game – Hassan Ndam – when Independence plays at Miami FC on August 23.
Club: Miami FC
Result: 1-1 at Tampa Bay Rowdies
Ndam came on in the 41st minute and helped Miami score a road run against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
The Cameroonian center-back achieved an impressive passing accuracy of 96.3% on 27 passes – and completed 88.9% of his passes in Tampa Bay territory. He also made four clears and produced an interception.
Club: Las Vegas Lights FC
Result: 1-0 loss to Orange County SC
Dally and the Lights returned to the championship on Saturday after a week-long hiatus due to someone from the Las Vegas organization testing positive for COVID-19. Dally started and played 68 minutes, finishing with two shots and a created opportunity.
Their next game is Wednesday against Tacoma Defiance, followed by a road trip to Phoenix to face Rising FC on August 23.
